National Fruit and Vegetables Month 2013

Fruits & Veggies – More Matters Month

Most people know that eating vegetables and fruits is important for good health—yet most of us still aren’t eating enough of them. This September, Salud de Paloma is proud to participate in Fruit & Veggies – “More Matters” Month.

Eating a healthy diet—including plenty of vegetables and fruits—can help you:

  • Keep a bowl of fruit handy where the whole family can see it.
  • Cut up fruits and veggies ahead of time so they’re ready for quick, healthy snacks.
  • Challenge your family to try a new veggie or fruit every week.

Remember, eating more fruits and veggies can be fun—and it’s worth it! Now that the hot summer months are ending and cooler fall weather is around the corner, visit your local farmers market for a bounty of freshly harvested produce. Fruits and vegetables that are picked within days of eating are more delicious and have more nutrients!

You can find us at the HOPE Farmers Market in Austin, the Main Plaza Farmers Market in San Antonio, and El Centro de Laredo Farmers Market in Laredo. We hope to be at more farmers markets throughout Texas, so stay tuned for news. Even if you can’t get to a farmers market near you, be sure to always visit the produce section at your local supermarket!
